Painting, peach tart and gutters

Our friends, Brigitta and Roland, dropped by with a fresh peach tart today to help us get through the last bit of construction. Isn't it lovely to have such good friends! Blaine Dauphney is painting the interior over the last two days, the new roof is on the old part of the house, and Chris Carmichael is here to get the gutters back up before tropical storm Danny dumps a lot of rain on us. John and Aileen Brown drove all the way from Amherst to have breakfast with us at the Clucking Hen and we are off to the beach for a cook out with friends tonight so all in all it is a good Saturday.

Pissing rain here, thinking about leaks in the house at Lake Annis, hoping your roof is tighter than the bark on a tree.

Hi Susan Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog. I love your pic of the ladders. Your life in Cape Breton sounds perfect. Our son (Aaron Hemeon) actually lived on the Cabot Trail for a while. He stayed in the yurt pictured on your blog last summer, worked at Penny and Ian's B& B. Last August he moved to Victoria to attend U Vic. His heart is in Cape Breton and I know he will one day return. My husband and I visited Cape Breton 2 years ago and I fell in love. We keep talking about moving there when he retires although he is actualy from the village of Milton on the south shore. Hope the storms are not too hard on you.

You do indeed have lovely friends. Peach tart, yummy! Also, your house looks like its coming together. A good feeling?
