Building an addition, writing a novel
It could be said that building an addition is like writing a novel. (Of course I say this because we are building an addition, and I am beginning a novel.) There is an idea and it builds in the imagination. If the concept takes hold, and finances can be put in place, research begins and plans are laid. Then the construction starts and there is no turning back, rough work first, filling in later, and in the end the final, finishing touches. We're at the rough stage still. Take a look.
Meanwhile, work continues for The Cabot Trail Writers Festival at North River. You can find information at: www.cabottrailwritersfestival.com

Readers of the magazine rated Bali as the world’s best island, followed by the Galapagos.

Cabot Trail Writers Festival at North River & some visitors
Perhaps it is because the sun isn't shining much these days, who knows, but we've had more than the usual wild visitors (not just Daniel & Noelle) this last while. Foxes and their babies rollicking along the road, flocks of cedar waxwings, a lovely young bull moose and a compost eating bear.
On a literary note, preparations are being made for the first annual Cabot Trail Writers Festival at North River to be held over the weekend of October 2-4. The festival will feature Donna Morrissey, Douglas Arthur Brown and me! An online link will soon be available. Come join us.
