Painting, peach tart and gutters

Our friends, Brigitta and Roland, dropped by with a fresh peach tart today to help us get through the last bit of construction. Isn't it lovely to have such good friends! Blaine Dauphney is painting the interior over the last two days, the new roof is on the old part of the house, and Chris Carmichael is here to get the gutters back up before tropical storm Danny dumps a lot of rain on us. John and Aileen Brown drove all the way from Amherst to have breakfast with us at the Clucking Hen and we are off to the beach for a cook out with friends tonight so all in all it is a good Saturday.

Windows, doors, lilies and a boat

Most of the windows and both doors went on today. Strapping is up for ceiling and walls and the electrician is wiring the addition. Meanwhile, the garden flourishes, veggies and flowers both, most especially the lilies, and Andy is painting the bottom of his boat.

Our first new potatoes (last week), first blueberry pie (local berries -- thanks Bill & Fenella) and our raspberries.
