The tale of the travelling typewriter: the Cape Breton leg (or key) of its journey

OK, this is a wonderful story: my friend, Marion, was walking her dog north along the Cabot Trail and came across, you guessed it from the post title, our old beach typewriter. Now I have no idea where our typewriter is trying to go, but from its beach start, it's heading south. If anyone sees it on the Trail, they might want to give it a lift and please, please, please take a picture of it at its destination. (I'll post an email address for photos later.) I'm afraid it is looking a little worn, lost its lid for one thing, but so would you if you had no legs and were making your way... well how? And where?

The photos were taken by Marion Thompson.

I hope we haven't heard the last of the travelling typewriter. To see what the typewriter looked like before it set off from North Shore beach, click on the site below:

Love the saga of the typewriter! Hope people do pick it up and drop it off, it would be fun to follow the journey.

Hope summer is finding you in Cape Breton! (the weather I mean)

We have only had glimmers of summer, bits of heat (with bugs of course) and lots of rain these last few days, but full summer will come. When I drove past the place where the typewriter had last been sighted, it was not there. I do wonder where it will turn up next. -- Susan

Is it the same typewriter or are there a host of aliens disguised as well worn typewriters landing on the east coast set to invade Canada? Are they off to the G 8 or 20 conferences?

If it's headed to the G8 it had better spruce itself up or it will get arrested for sure. It looks like it has nothing left to lose! Yes, we think it is the same typewriter. It has found a ride (or a home) as it's no longer where we left it. -- Susan
