Shed bed scrounging

I have always wanted a shed bed, a place outside the house to nap or read in summer. This coming Monday the County has its large garbage pickup. While on a walk I found and retrieved an old folding bed, the kind motels use as cots, from one garbage pile. The mattress is iffy so it's going into the our garbage pile on Monday. My friend, Marion, is getting rid of several old single bed mattresses and offered me one of my choice, the rest are going into her garbage pile. So now I have a shed bed in my screened porch, a cozy bright place to read, one with nice breezes and an ocean view, too, and all for a little scrounging.

The tale of the travelling typewriter: the Cape Breton leg (or key) of its journey

OK, this is a wonderful story: my friend, Marion, was walking her dog north along the Cabot Trail and came across, you guessed it from the post title, our old beach typewriter. Now I have no idea where our typewriter is trying to go, but from its beach start, it's heading south. If anyone sees it on the Trail, they might want to give it a lift and please, please, please take a picture of it at its destination. (I'll post an email address for photos later.) I'm afraid it is looking a little worn, lost its lid for one thing, but so would you if you had no legs and were making your way... well how? And where?

The photos were taken by Marion Thompson.

I hope we haven't heard the last of the travelling typewriter. To see what the typewriter looked like before it set off from North Shore beach, click on the site below:
